Former Highland Security employee sues for alleged unpaid wages, expenses

EDWARDSVILLE – A former employee has filed a lawsuit against Highland Security claiming the company owes him money for unpaid wages and expenses incurred on their behalf. 

Plaintiff Andrew Welder filed the lawsuit in the Madison County Circuit Court against Highland Security, citing breach of contract. 

According to the lawsuit, Welder was employed by the defendant since at least Aug. 9, 1993, serving in various management and executive positions until his termination on July 21, 2023. Welder alleges that for at least five years, up to the date he was terminated, Highland Security has failed to properly compensate him for wages earned and various expenses that he incurred on the company's behalf.

The plaintiff is seeking damages in excess of $50,000, plus interest, attorneys fees, court costs, and any other relief the court deems proper. He is represented in this case by attorney John L. Gilbert of Sandberg, Phoenix & von Gontard, P.C. in Edwardsville.
