BELLEVILLE – A lawsuit has been filed for damages after a patron of the Big Daddy's restaurant allegedly got into a heated argument and shot two individuals outside of the establishment.

Plaintiffs Bailey Seymore and Morgan King filed the lawsuit in the St. Clair County Circuit Court against defendant Khalind Hayes, citing battery.

According to the lawsuit, on July 31, 2022, Hayes was a patron at the Big Daddy's bar and restaurant in Belleville. The lawsuit alleges that while he was on the premises, he got into a disagreement with other individuals, which escalated. Hayes allegedly went outside the establishment, pulled out a handgun and opened fire, hitting plaintiffs Seymore and King.  

The plaintiffs state that Hayes caused them personal bodily injuries, which have caused them to experience pain, suffering, and disability. They claim their injuries impacted their ability earn income and lead a normal lives. The plaintiffs add that they have incurred medical expenses because of their injuries. 

The plaintiffs are seeking damages in excess of $50,000, plus court costs and any other relief the court deems proper. They are represented in this case by attorneys Jeffrey S. Deutschman and Bradley A. Skafish of Deutschman and Skafish in Chicago.
