EDWARDSVILLE – An Amazon delivery driver is suing a Maryville property owner after she allegedly stepped in a pothole and suffered injuries.

Plaintiff Ashley Boyet filed the lawsuit in the Madison County Circuit Court against Health Management Zone, citing negligence.

According to the lawsuit, Boyet is a delivery driver for Amazon. On Nov. 19, 2022, she was making a delivery to a strip mall located in Maryville and owned and operated by the defendant. According to Boyet, while she was crossing the parking lot to make her delivery, she stepped in a pothole and injured herself.

Boyet claims the defendant negligently allowed a dangerous condition to develop in the parking lot, putting patrons at risk.

Boyet claims that as a result of the defendant's alleged negligence, she sustained injuries and has endured pain and suffering. She adds that she has incurred medical expenses and will continue to require the services of medical staff to recover.

The plaintiff is seeking damages in excess of $50,000, plus court costs and any other relief the court deems proper. She is represented in this case by attorney William K. Meehan of Meehan Law Firm in University City.
