BELLEVILLE – A patron at Jack's Place Bar and Grill filed a lawsuit claiming he was assaulted by an intoxicated man.

Plaintiff Sean McClure filed the lawsuit in the St. Clair County Circuit Court against Michael Logston and Jack's Place.

According to the lawsuit, on May 15, 2021, McClure and Logston were patrons of the Jack's Place Bar and Grill. McClure claims he was struck by Logston repeatedly about the body, head and face, causing him to suffer injuries. Jack's Place is named a defendant for allegedly violating the Dram Shop Act by continuing to sell alcohol to Logston to the point of intoxication, which allegedly led to the incident.

McClure alleges he suffered serious and permanent bodily injuries, which have caused him disability, disfigurement, emotional distress, pain and suffering. He adds that he has expended large amounts of money to recover from his injuries.

The plaintiff is seeking damages in excess of $50,000, plus attorney's fees and any other relief the court deems proper. He is represented in this case by attorney Jaye R. Lindsay of Crossroad Legal, LLC in Edwardsville.
