EDWARDSVILLE – A customer is suing Mac's Convenience Store after she allegedly slipped and fell on the wet floor.

Plaintiff Tara Copeland filed the lawsuit in the Madison County Circuit Court against Mac's Convenience Store, LLC, doing business as Circle K, citing negligence.

According to the lawsuit, Copeland was a patron at a Mac's Convenience Store in Edwardsville on July 8, 2021. Copeland claims that while she was shopping, she slipped on a wet part of the floor and fell, severely injuring herself.

According to Copeland, Mac's Convenience Store negligently failed to properly maintain the premises to protect the safety of its customers

Copeland alleges she has suffered injuries to her right knee, ankle, hip and back, which have caused her to experience disability, pain, suffering and lost wages. She adds that she has incurred medical expenses and will continue to require the services of medical staff to recover.

The plaintiff is seeking damages in excess of $50,000, plus court costs and any other relief the court deems proper. She is represented in this case by attorney Jennifer Davies of Brown & Brown in St. Louis.
