EDWARDSVILLE – A shopper is suing Harbor Freight Tools in Alton after she was allegedly struck by a hydraulic cart being pushed by an employee.

Plaintiff Lisa M. Easley filed the lawsuit in the Madison County Circuit Court against Harbor Freight Tools, USA Inc., citing negligence.

According to the lawsuit, Easley was a patron at a Harbor Freight Tools store in Alton on May 6, 2021. Easley claims that while she was shopping in the store, an employee suddenly struck her with a hydraulic cart full of merchandise, causing her to suffer injuries.

Easley states that she was injured due to the negligence and carelessness of the defendant's employee who failed to keep a proper lookout while pushing the cart.

Easley alleges she has suffered an injury to her ankle, which has caused her to experience pain, suffering, mental anguish and lost wages. She adds that she has incurred medical expenses and will continue to require the services of medical staff to recover.

The plaintiff is seeking damages in excess of $50,000 plus court costs and any other relief the court deems proper. She is represented in this case by attorney Samuel A. Mormino, Jr. of Mormino & Snider, P.C. in Alton.
