EDWARDSVILLE – A bicyclist has filed a negligence lawsuit after he was allegedly struck by a motorist.
Plaintiff Nathan Harris filed the lawsuit in the Madison County Circuit Court against defendant Glenn Jacquot, citing negligence.
According to the lawsuit, on March 6, 2023, Harris was riding his bicycle northbound on Bluff Road near the intersection of Eastport Plaza Dr. when he was struck by a vehicle being driven by Jacquot.
The lawsuit states that Jacquot negligently failed to operate his vehicle in a safe and proper manner to avoid collision.
Harris claims he has suffered bodily injuries, which have caused him to experience disability, disfigurement, pain suffering, and mental anguish. He adds that he has incurred medical expenses and will continue to require the services of medical staff to recover.
The plaintiff is seeking damages in excess of $50,000, and any other relief the court deems proper. He is represented in this case by attorney John Hipskind of Hipskind & McAninch in Belleville.
