BELLEVILLE – A motorist is being sued for allegedly causing a collision during a fit of road rage and injuring his passenger.
Plaintiff Rachel Pembleton filed the lawsuit on behalf of her minor child, Na'la Hannah, in the St. Clair County Circuit Court against defendant Tyron Pembleton, citing negligence.
According to the lawsuit, Hannah was a passenger in Tyron Pembleton's vehicle and traveling on Highhway 15 on Sept. 23, 2020. The lawsuit states that Pembleton, in a fit of road rage, began to drive aggressively and tailgate the vehicle in front of him. He allegedly tried to pass the vehicle in front of him when he collided with another vehicle, causing him to veer off the road and into a concrete barrier, flipping his vehicle several times.
The lawsuit states that Tyron Pembleton negligently failed to operate his vehicle in a safe and proper manner to protect the safety of his passenger, Hannah.
The suit states Hannah sustained injuries that have caused her to experience pain, suffering, disability and disfigurement. The plaintiff also claims Hannah has incurred medical expenses and will continue to require the services of medical staff to recover from her injuries.
Rachel Pembleton and Hannah are seeking damages in excess of $50,000 and any other relief the court deems proper. They are represented in this case by attorney John T. Hipskind of Hipskind & McAninch in Belleville.
