Woman alleges sexual battery by Swansea Moose Lodge employee

BELLEVILLE – A guest at the Swansea Moose Lodge claims she was sexually battered by an employee.

Plaintiff Hayley Humberd filed a lawsuit in the St. Clair County Circuit Court against defendants Bellville/Swansea Moose Lodge 1221 and Guadalupe M. Ortiz, citing negligence and sexual battery

According to the lawsuit, Humberd was at the Moose Lodge in Swansea on Jan. 19, 2021. She alleges that while she was there, Moose Lodge employee Ortiz sexually battered her and made inflammatory and inappropriate comments directed at her.   

Humberd claims that as a result of the incident, she endured pain, suffering, disfigurement, loss of normal life, emotional distress and lost wages. She adds that she has incurred medical costs and will continue to require medical care to recover from her injuries.

The plaintiff is seeking damages in excess of $50,000, plus court costs and any other relief the court deems proper. She is represented in this case by attorney Benedict Y. Song of Rosenblum, Schwartz and Fry, P.C. in Clayton.
