BELLEVILLE – Several companies claim a group of accountants failed to file their tax returns multiple times over the past 20 years.
Plaintiffs Arrow Realty, Inc., E & L, LLC, Golden Properties, Inc., Riverfront Corporation, Tujay, Inc., The Lois Sieron Revocable Trust, The Edwin J. Sieron Declaration of Trust, The Estate of Edwin Sieron and the Estate of Lois Sieron filed a lawsuit in the St. Clair County Circuit Court against defendants Archford Accounting, LLC, Dominic Meduri, CPA, Karen Pakosta, CPA and Tragesser & Associates, P.C., citing negligence, malpractice and breach of duty.
According to the lawsuit, the plaintiffs employed the services of the defendants to prepare and file all tax returns since 1995. The plaintiffs allege the defendants failed to file their tax returns on numerous occasions throughout the years. According to the lawsuit, the defendants concealed this fact from the plaintiffs for years. The plaintiffs allege they found out about the defendant' malpractice in May 2021. Up until then, the plaintiffs had been forwarding all tax related mail and notices from the IRS and the State of Illinois to the defendants. The lawsuit alleges the defendants negligently ignored multiple communications from state and federal tax agencies for years regarding the plaintiffs' failure to file their requisite tax returns.
The plaintiffs claim that as a result of the defendant's negligent actions, they have suffered extensive damages in the form of additional taxes, interest, late penalties, administrative and professional costs, and fees associated with refiling past-due tax returns.
The plaintiffs are seeking damages in excess of $50,000 and any other relief the court deems proper. They are represented in this case by attorneys Michael J. Nester and Sean K. Cronin of Donovan, Rose, Nester, P.C. in Belleville.
