Shopper sues O'Fallon Schnuck Markets over alleged trip and fall

EDWARDSVILLE – A shopper is suing a Schnuck Markets store in O'Fallon after she allegedly tripped and injured herself in the store. 

Plaintiff Norma Deadmond filed the lawsuit in the Madison County Circuit Court against Schnuck Markets, Inc, citing negligence.

According to the lawsuit, Deadmond was a patron at a Schnuck Markets store in O'Fallon on Feb. 10, 2021. She claims that while she was on the premises, she tripped on a floor mat that had become bunched up, severely injuring herself.

According to Deadmond, the defendant negligently failed to properly maintain the premises to protect the safety of its customers.

Deadmond alleges he suffered severe injuries, which has caused her pain and suffering and will impact her ability to enjoy a normal life.

The plaintiff is seeking damages in excess of $50,000, plus interest, court costs and any other relief the court deems proper. She is represented in this case by attorney Matthew P. Young of Kuehn, Beasley & Young, P.C. in Belleville.
