Woman sues Dollar General over fall at South Roxana store

EDWARDSVILLE - A woman is suing Dollar General, alleging she was injured when she slipped and fell at the South Roxana store. 

According to the the lawsuit, plaintiff Kamisha Lucas claims she was at the South Roxana Dollar General on April 15, 2021, when she allegedly slipped in an aisle and fell to the floor. As a result, she claims she suffered injuries to her neck, back, shoulders, ankles and knees. 

Lucas claims the store failed to inspect the aisles and failed to warn her of the dangerous conditions in the store. She also claims the "dangerous condition" was not open and obvious. 

As a result, she allegedly suffered "permanent disfigurement" and incurred medical expenses.

Lucas seeks between $50,000 and $75,000 in damages, plus legal costs. She is represented by Michael Glisson of Williamson Webster Falb and Glisson in Alton.
