BELLEVILLE – The Sky Zone Trampoline Park in Fairview Heights is being sued after a child allegedly fell and injured himself due to an overcrowded trampoline court.
Plaintiff Kimberly Harkins, as legal guardian of K.R., filed a lawsuit in the St. Clair County Circuit Court against Innovative Heights Fairview Heights, LLC, doing business as Sky Zone Trampoline Park, citing negligence and carelessness.
According to the lawsuit, the defendant owned and operated a trampoline park in Fairview Heights. On March 5, K.R. was a patron on the premises owned by the defendants and suffered serious injuries while playing basketball on the trampoline courts. The lawsuit states that the trampoline court was overcrowded, which caused K.R. to fall unnaturally during play and suffer injuries.
Harkins claims the defendants negligently failed to properly supervise the premises to protect the safety of its customers.
According to the lawsuit, K.R. sustained serious injuries, which have caused him pain, suffering and disability. The lawsuit states that as a result of his injuries, the plaintiffs have incurred medical costs and K.R. will continue to require medical care to recover from his injuries.
The plaintiffs are seeking damages in excess of $50,000, plus court costs and any other relief the court deems proper. They are represented in this case by attorney John T. Hipskind and Brady M. McAninch of Hipskind & McAninch, LLC in Belleville.
