Peyton Hagerman and Megan Janowiak, spring law school graduates who joined HeplerBroom earlier this fall as law clerks, took part in the most recent Illinois bar admission ceremony and are now associate attorneys with the firm. Hagerman focuses his practice on the defense of asbestos, class action, personal injury, and toxic tort litigation, while Janowiak concentrates on the defense of medical and dental malpractice, personal injury, and professional liability matters.
Hagerman, who practices in the firm’s Edwardsville office, is a 2022 graduate of the University of Illinois College of law. He also holds a B.S. in Agricultural Business from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. While in law school, he earned three Cali Excellence Awards, was a Harno Scholar and on the Dean’s List, and belonged to the Corporate Business Law Association. After receiving his 711 License, he provided legal counsel to military veterans on issues ranging from contract disputes to divorce proceedings.
Janowiak, who practices in the firm’s Chicago office, is a 2022 graduate of Chicago-Kent College of Law. She also holds a B.A. in English Literature and Philosophy from DePaul University. While in law school, she was on the Dean’s List, was a Cali Award Winner in Trial Advocacy, was associate research editor for the Journal of Environmental and Energy Law, was a brief writer and oralist for the National Appellate Advocacy Tournament for Religious Freedom,and participated in the Women in Law Society and the Student Humanitarian Network.
Both Hagerman and Janowiak were 2021 Summer Associates with HeplerBroom.
