EDWARDSVILLE – A contractor is suing his employer after a tree fell on him while on the job, causing him serious injuries.

Plaintiff Rhys Hund filed the lawsuit in the Madison County Circuit Court against defendants Daniel Linck, doing business as Linck & Log and Brian Linck, citing negligence.

According to the lawsuit, Hund was employed by the defendants to cut down and remove trees in Pinckneyville. Hund claims he was carrying out his duties on Nov. 9 when a tree fell on him, causing him serious injury.

Hund alleges he was injured because the defendants failed to properly provide oversight, failed to properly maintain equipment and failed to provide proper employee training, which created a dangerous work environment.

The plaintiff claims he has suffered severe and permanent injuries which have caused him to experience pain and suffering, have caused him lost wages and will impact his ability to earn income in the future. He adds that he has incurred medical expenses and will continue to require the services of medical staff to recover.

Hund is seeking damages in excess of $50,000, plus court costs and any other relief the court deems proper. He is represented in this case by attorney Daniel G. Broombaugh of Caraway & Broombaugh, P.C. in Belleville.
