EDWARDSVILLE – A customer is suing a Godfrey Walmart after he allegedly slipped and injured himself in the store.

Plaintiff Danny Jackson filed a lawsuit in Madison County Circuit Court against Walmart, Inc. and Courtney Howes, citing negligence and carelessness.

According to the lawsuit, on May 29, 2021, Jackson was a patron at a Walmart store in Godfrey, which was managed and supervised by Howes. He claims he slipped on a liquid in the produce aisle and fell, suffering injuries. The lawsuit states that the liquid had dripped from a long cart that was owned and operated by the defendant and its employees.

According to Jackson, the defendant failed to take proper precautions to protect the safety of its customers.

Jackson alleges he suffered bodily injuries, which has caused him severe pain and suffering, mental anguish and will impact his ability to lead a normal life. The lawsuit states that Jackson has incurred medical expenses and will continue to require the services of medical staff to recover.

The plaintiff is seeking damages in excess of $50,000, plus interest, court costs and any other relief the court deems proper. He is represented in this case by the attorneys of Michael P. Glisson and Timothy J. Chartrand of Williamson, Webster, Falb & Glisson in Alton.
