BELLEVILLE – A woman is suing Eckert's, Inc. after she allegedly fell on uneven concrete at the Belleville location.

Plaintiff Debra Vahey filed a lawsuit in the St. Clair County Circuit Court against Eckert's, Inc., citing negligence.

According to the lawsuit, Vahey was at the Belleville Eckert's when she claims she stepped on broken and uneven concrete, causing her to fall and suffer injuries. Vahey alleges the defendant failed to properly maintain its premises to protect the safety of its visitors.

Vahey claims she sustained severe injuries, which have caused her to experience pain and suffering, mental anguish and permanent disability. Her injuries will impact her ability to enjoy normal daily activities and earn income, the suit states. Vahey adds that as a result of her injuries, she has incurred medical costs and will continue to require medical care to recover from their injuries.

Vahey is seeking damages in excess of $50,000, plus court costs and any other relief the court deems proper. She is represented in this case by attorney Kevin P. Etzkorn of Etzkorn & Etzkorn, LLP in St. Louis.
