BELLEVILLE - A woman is suing a St. Clair County couple after their dog allegedly attacked her in their home.

Leslie Anderson filed the complaint in the St. Clair County Circuit Court against Christine and Robert Frisby.

According to the lawsuit, Anderson claims she was invited as a guest to the Frisbys' home on Algonquin Drive in Millstadt on July 28, 2020, when she was allegedly "viciously" attacked by their dog.

"Plaintiff was bit on her abdomen and right arm requiring stitches and other surgical procedures and is left with permanent scars," the lawsuit states. "Plaintiff suffered great pain and mental anguish; plaintiff has lost and in the future will continue to lose large sums of money due to her inability to pursue her normal gainful occupation."

The Frisbys "negligently and carelessly allowed a dog to roam on their property without any means of restraints," Anderson claims.

Anderson seeks $100,000 in damages from the couple, plus legal costs. She is represented by attorney Bruce Cook of Cook Bartholomew Shevlin Cook & Jones LLP in Belleville.
