BELLEVILLE - A man has sued the owner of a motel in Fairview Heights after he allegedly slipped on snow and ice while walking down stairs.

Plaintiff Ralphie Holland filed the suit in the St. Clair County Circuit Court against hotel owner Sai Rami.

According to the complaint, Holland was at a motel located at 10039 Lincoln Trail in Fairview Heights when he allegedly slipped and fell.

"Plaintiff was coming down a set of stairs from the second floor of defendant's building when he slipped on snow and/or ice that had been improperly removed near the bottom of the steps next to the parking lot," the suit states.

As a result of the fall, Holland claims he has suffered severe, extensive and permanent injuries both externally and internally that have caused him physical pain and anguish. He also claims he has been hindered in attending to his usual duties and affairs and has incurred medical expenses.

The plaintiff seeks more than $50,000 in damages and court costs. He is represented by attorney David Bone of Belleville.
