A GOP candidate meet-and-greet will take place at the American Legion in Edwardsville tomorrow and will feature individuals vying for federal, state and local offices.

The event is hosted by the Madison County Republican Central Committee (MCRCC) and is scheduled to run from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. It is free and open to the public.

According to a press release, Madison County Republicans currently hold most offices at the county level for the first time in recent memory. Several local, state and federal seats up for election will also see contested races in June’s primary.

“In this unprecedented time in Madison County, we as conservatives will have choices at the ballot box,” said MCRCC Chairman Ray Wesley.  “This is an opportunity to get to know these candidates.”

Wesley added that the meet-and-greet was organized to give voters the chance to make informed decisions in the primary.

During the event, each participant will be given three minutes to speak, which will allow them time to also interact with those attending.

Republican governor candidates Darren Bailey, Richard Irvin, Max Solomon and Jesse Sullivan are expected to join more than 25 candidates for state and local offices.

Additional candidates participating include Joe Hackler and Jennifer Korte, who are vying for Illinois’ 112th State Representative seat; Regan Deering, Matt Hausman and Jesse Reising, who are seeking election for the US 13th Congressional District; and Jeff Connor and and Jeff Larner, who are both running for Madison County Sheriff.

The press release states that all candidates appearing on the Madison County Republican primary ballots were given the opportunity to participate in the event.
