BELLEVILLE –A man is suing Memorial Hospital in Shiloh after he slipped and fell in the hospital's maternity ward.
Brandon Keys filed the lawsuit in the St. Clair. County Circuit Court against protestant Memorial Medical Center, doing business as Memorial Hospital Shiloh, citing negligence.
In his complaint, Keys alleges the hospital's employees failed to take proper precautions to protect the safety of its patrons. He claims he was at Memorial Hospital in Shiloh on Oct. 14, 2021, when he allegedly slipped on a wet spot on the floor in the hospital's maternity ward.
Keys alleges the fall caused him to sustain injuries to his neck, left shoulder, and back. He also claims he has incurred medical expenses as a result of the injury and will continue to require the services of medical staff to recover.
The plaintiff is seeking damages in an amount exceeding $50,000, plus court costs and any additional relief the court deems proper. He is represented in this case by attorneys Thomas C.
