BELLEVILLE - A woman who was allegedly injured in a bus crash is suing an East St. Louis driver for allegedly causing the collision.

Naomi Jordan filed the complaint in the St. Clair County Circuit Court against Kasey Smith.

Jordan was passenger on a Bi-State bus at the time of the incident on May 19, 2020. She claims Smith, who was driving the other car involved in the crash, "drove at excessive speed" and should have known that "there was a reasonable likelihood of collision in time thereafter to have stopped, swerved, slackened speed, or sounded a warning."

Jordan claims she suffered injuries including whiplash and back and head pain, "all of which have caused extreme pain and suffering and will continue to cause … pain and suffering in the future."

Jordan is seeking damages that are "a fair and reasonable amount in excess of this court's minimum threshold for assignment" as well reimbursement for expenses. She is represented by Michael Langella of The Bradley Law Firm in St. Louis.
