EDWARDSVILLE - A motorist is suing another driver for allegedly causing a rear-end collision on Interstate 270.
Plaintiff Sha'Quiona M. Hickmon filed the lawsuit in the Madison County Circuit Court against defendant Latosha A. Dandridge, citing negligence and carelessness.
According to the lawsuit, Hickmon was traveling eastbound on Interstate 270 near where it intersects with US 67 when Dandridge struck the left rear end of her vehicle, causing Hickmon to lurch forward and run into the median on the roadway.
The lawsuit states that Hickmon suffered injuries to her head, cervical and lumbar spine, and nervous system.
Hickmon claims she has endured "great physical pain and mental anguish" and that her "permanent and progressive" injuries will impair her ability to earn income and enjoy regular activities. The lawsuit states that Hickmon has incurred medical expenses in the approximate amount of $9,753 as a result of the collision and will continue to require the services of medical staff to recover.
Hickmon seeks damages in excess of $50,000, plus court costs and any other relief the court deems proper. She is represented in this case by attorney James N. Guirl, II of Guirl Law Firm in St. Louis.
