EDWARDSVILLE – A woman is suing a Dollar Tree Store in Alton alleging she tripped and fell on boxes that were left in the aisle.

Usheka Harris-Watson filed the lawsuit in the Madison County Circuit Court against Dollar Tree Stores, citing negligence.

According to the complaint, Harris-Watson alleges the store's employees had failed to take proper precautions to protect the safety of its customers.

She claims that on May 11, 2021, she was shopping at the Dollar Tree Store located at 1837 Homer M Adams Parkway in Alton when some boxes that were left in the aisle caused her to slip and fall, injuring herself.

Harris-Watson alleges the incident caused her to injure her left knee. She claims she has experienced pain and suffering and will continue to do so in the future. The lawsuit also states that the injury will affect her ability to earn income and perform daily normal activities and has caused her to incur medical expenses.

Harris-Watson is seeking damages in an amount exceeding $50,000, plus court costs and any additional relief the court deems proper. She is represented in this case by attorney Rodney D. Caffey of The Caffey Law Firm, LLC. in Godfrey.
