EDWARDSVILLE - A woman is suing the Country Club View Condominium Homeowners Association for allegedly failing to maintain an Edwardsville property, which allegedly caused to her injure herself while vacuuming.

Plaintiff Billie Jo Walker filed the lawsuit in the Madison County Circuit Court against defendants Country Club View Condominium Homeowners Association, DCMTB Properties, LLC, Kunkel Wittenauer Group, Inc., and Cecil Management Group, Inc. citing negligence.

According to the lawsuit, the plaintiff was at a property located at 216 Country Club View in Edwardsville on May 25, 2020. The property is owned by the Country Club View Condominium Homeowners Association and DCMTB Properties, LLC, and is leased by Kunkel Wittenauer Group, Inc. and Cecil Management Group, Inc.

The plaintiff allegedly had a contract with the defendants to be legally on the property. Walker claims that while she was vacuuming the property, she noticed that one of the doors was not working properly and had to be held open for her to finish vacuuming. She claims that while she was holding the doors open, she suffered injuries to her back, neck and shoulder.

According to the lawsuit, the defendants had a duty to keep and maintain the property's doors. By failing to do so, she claims they caused her injuries.

Walker is seeking damages in excess of $50,000, plus court costs and any relief the court deems proper. She is represented in this case by attorneys Tonya Genovese and Sara Salgar of The Gori Law Firm, P.C. in Edwardsville.
