EDWARDSVILLE - A driver is suing XPO Logistics Freight, Inc. after one of its drivers allegedly caused a multi-car collision in Hamel Township.

Plaintiff Rhonda R. Morr filed the lawsuit in the Madison County Circuit Court against XPO, citing negligence and recklessness by its employee Scott M. Parmeter.

According to the lawsuit, on March 19, 2020, Morr was driving southbound in the left lane on Interstate 55 near milepost 27.5 in Hamel Township. She claims she had come to a stop because traffic was impeded by a crash that was further down the road. Morr alleges Parmeter was driving a semi-truck in the same direction in the right lane and had entered her lane just before allegedly rear-ending another semi-truck, causing it to lurch forward and strike the plaintiff's vehicle.

Morr claims she sustained severe and permanent injuries that will continue to cause pain and suffering in the future. The lawsuit states that Morr has incurred expenses for medical care and will require further medical care in the future to help her recover from her injuries. She also alleges that the injuries will affect her ability to work and enjoy daily activities.

The plaintiff is seeking damages in excess of $50,000, plus court costs and any other relief the court deems proper. Morr is represented in this case by attorney Gina Couri-Cyphers of Kanoski Bresney law firm in Bloomington.
