EDWARDSVILLE — A woman claims she suffered multiple injuries in a Troy collision when another driver failed to yield the right of way at an intersection.

Alayna Sheppard filed a complaint on April 21 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Caroline Kober, alleging negligence.

According to Sheppard's complaint, she was driving her Dodge van on Edwardsville Road near the intersection of Riggin Road in Troy on April 30, 2020. She alleges Kober was driving a Chrysler van and was attempting to make a left turn when she allegedly turned directly into the path of Sheppard's vehicle.

Sheppard claims that as a result of the collision, she suffered injuries to her muscles, tendons, ligaments, nerves, bones of the head and face as well as injuries to her chest, neck and back. She also alleges she endured pain and suffering, lost earning capacity and incurred medical expenses.

She alleges Kober was negligent for failing to yield the right of way, failing to keep a proper lookout and failing to obey a traffic device. She also alleges Kober failed to keep her vehicle under proper control.

Sheppard seeks monetary relief of more than $50,000, interest and all other just relief. She is represented by Robert Marcus and Sara Salger of The Gori Law Firm PC in Edwardsville.
