Pedestrian allegedly struck by vehicle in Alton parking lot

EDWARDSVILLE — A pedestrian claims she was struck by a vehicle while walking through a parking lot in Alton. 

Ariel Stewart filed a complaint April 11 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Michelle Zuckerman, alleging negligence and other claims. 

According to her complaint, Stewart was walking in parking lot on Homer Adams Parkway in Alton on July 8, 2021. She claims that Zuckerman was driving her vehicle in the parking lot, collided into her and caused her to suffer injuries to her shoulder, foot, ankle, face, teeth, back and neck. 

Stewart further claims in her suit that she also suffered disability and disfigurement, lost wages and loss of earning capacity as well as incurred medical treatment expenses. 

She alleges Zuckerman was negligent for speeding, failing to keep a proper lookout and failing to brake, steer or maneuver her vehicle to avoid striking her in the parking lot. 

Stewart seeks monetary relief of more than $50,000 and all other just relief. She is represented by Rodney Caffey of The Caffey Law Firm LLC in Godfrey.
