EDWARDSVILLE — A motorist claims she was injured when another driver failed to yield at a stop light and caused a Glen Carbon collision.

Paula S. Anderson filed a complaint in the Madison County Circuit Court against Dale Ray Storey, alleging negligence.

According to her complaint, Anderson was operating her Toyota Prius on Illinois Route 159 at its intersection with I-270 in Glen Carbon on Aug. 6, 2021. Anderson claims that Storey, who was operating his Volkswagen GTI, failed to reduce his speed and collided with the plaintiff's Prius.

As a result of the collision, Anderson alleges she suffered "extensive" injuries including to her neck, back, chest, knee, hip, foot and leg, which has caused her to incur medical treatment expenses. Anderson alleges she also suffered lost wages, disability and disfigurement.

She claims Storey was negligent for failing to keep a proper lookout, speeding and failing to brake or steer to avoid the collision. She also claims Storey improperly drove into the intersection and failed to yield at the stop light.

Anderson seeks monetary relief of more than $50,000 and all other proper relief. She is represented by Rodney Caffey of The Caffey Law Firm LLC in Godfrey.
