EDWARDSVILLE – A woman is suing Hi Top Bowl Bowling Alley in Highland, alleging the defendant over-waxed the bowling lanes, causing her to fall.

Plaintiff Linda Beeler filed the lawsuit on April 1 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Ray Voss, doing business as Hi Top Bowl, Inc., citing negligence and a failure to provide a safe environment for customers.

According to the lawsuit, Beeler was a patron at the bowling alley Hi Top Bowl in Highland on May 26, 2021. While on the premises, Beeler slipped in a bowling lane that was allegedly "overly waxed" and/or improperly maintained, which caused her to fall to the ground.

The lawsuit states that Beeler suffered "significant" injuries and damages.

Beeler is seeking damages in excess of $50,000 and any other relief the court deems proper. Beeler is represented in this case by attorneys John T. Hipskind and Brady M. McAninch of Hipskind & McAninch LLC in Belleville.
