EDWARDSVILLE - A man claims the owner of Fast Eddie's Bon-Air punched him with an object wrapped around his fist.

Jeffery Mosby filed the lawsuit in the Madison County Circuit Court against Fast Eddie’s Bon-Air, Inc. and Edward R. Sholar Jr., alleging negligence and personal injury. Sholar is the owner of Fast Eddie's.

According to the lawsuit, on May 30, 2020, Mosby was at Fast Eddie's Bon-Air in Alton on May 30, 2020 when Sholar allegedly "punched the plaintiff in the right eye with a foreign object and/or weapon around his fist."

Mosby claims Fast Eddie's failed to de-escalate the confrontation, failed to prevent weapons from entering the establishment, failed to retain competent security staff, allowed hostile and aggressive individuals to remain on the premises, failed to keep watch and failed to maintain the establishment in a safe condition.

Mosby claims he was caused to suffer personal injury, incurred medical bills to obtain treatment, lost income and suffered employability diminishment.

Mosby seeks a judgment in excess of $50,000, plus cost of suit with future litigation to request punitive damages. He is represented by Ellen Burford of Burford Law Office in Granite City.
