EDWARDSVILLE - A motorist is suing another driver for allegedly causing a head-on collision on St. Rose Road.

Brian Knapp filed a lawsuit in the Madison County Circuit Court against Kenneth Davidson and Bass Company, LLC, doing business as Breese Journal and Publishing Company, LLC, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, Knapp was driving a 2005 Hyundai Tiburon southbound on St. Rose Road in Clinton County on Feb. 24. At the same time, Davidson was driving a 2016 Chrysler Town and Country van northbound on the same road when he allegedly entered the plaintiff’s lane of traffic, causing a head-on collision between both vehicles.

Knapp alleges Davidson negligently and carelessly failed to operate his vehicle in a safe and proper manner; failed to keep a proper lookout; failed to keep the vehicle under control to avoid a collision; failed to use every precaution possible to avoid collision; failed to yield the right-of-way; proceeded at a speed greater than reasonable and proper with regard to the traffic condition and failed to decrease his speed, stop or swerve to avoid a collision.

Knapp claims he was caused to suffer severe and permanent injuries, disability and disfigurement, incurred medical expenses, and endured physical pain and mental anguish.

Knapp seeks an amount in excess of $50,000. He is represented by Brady McAninch of Hipskind & McAninch in Belleville.
