EDWARDSVILLE - A driver of a Corvette claims the driver of a Mustang pulled out of an Alton parking lot in front of him and caused a collision.

Shane Pride filed a lawsuit on Feb. 1 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Jeffrey Parker, alleging negligence.

According to the lawsuit, Pride was traveling in his 2009 Chevrolet Corvette going southeast on Belle St. in Alton on Nov. 21, 2021. At the same time, Parker was driving his 1986 Ford Mustang and exiting the east side of a business parking lot onto Belle St., when the two vehicles collided. Parker allegedly struck the driver's side door of Pride's vehicle.

Pride alleges Parker negligently failed to keep a proper lookout for other vehicles, drove his vehicle at a speed that was greater than reasonable, failed to exercise proper control over his vehicle, failed to brake and failed to yield the right of way.

Pride claims he was caused to suffer both temporary and permanent injuries and both past and future medical, doctor and treatment expenses.

Pride seeks an amount in excess of $50,000 plus court costs. Parker is represented by Lanny Darr of Darr Law Offices in Alton.
