EDWARDSVILLE - A motorist is suing another driver for allegedly running a red light and causing a Collinsville collision.

Esther Mansour filed a lawsuit on Feb. 1 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Lephonse Paige, alleging negligence.

According to the lawsuit, Mansour was operating a vehicle going westbound on St. Louis Rod in Collinsville on Feb. 1, 2020. She claims that as she was passing an intersection, Paige allegedly failed to stop for a red light and struck the plaintiff's vehicle.

Mansour alleges Paige negligently operated a motor vehicle without keeping proper lookout, collided with the side of Mansour's car, failed to stop to avoid a collision, failed to stop for a red light and drove at a speed that was greater than reasonable and proper without regard to the safety of others.

Mansour claims she was caused to suffer physical injuries to her back, incurred medical expenses, suffered damages to her psyche, disability, loss of normal life and property damage.

Mansour seeks an amount in excess of $50,000, plus cost of suit. She is represented by H. Paul Balisteri of The Balisteri Law Office LLC in Belleville and Michael Brunton of Collinsville.
