EDWARDSVILLE - A rental company claims Designs by Nino failed to pay for equipment rentals.

Sunbelt Rentals, Inc. filed a lawsuit on Jan. 27 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Robert Jones, doing business as Designs by Nino, alleging breach of contract and Quantum Meruit.

According to the lawsuit, Sunbelt Rentals approved the defendant's Commercial Credit Application on March 24, 2021. Sunbelt Rentals provided the defendant with a man lift with jib, string trimmer, commercial mower ride-on and cab telehandler forklift. However, Sunbelt Rentals claims Designs by Nino failed to pay for the equipment.

Sunbelt Rentals claims the defendant breached the initial contract by failing to make payments.

Sunbelt Rentals seeks the amount owed by defendant of $76,450.03, plus attorney's fees and court costs. Sunbelt Rentals is represented by Quinn Murphy of Sandberg Phoenix & von Gontard PC in St. Louis.
