St. Clair County Circuit Court has extended an order related to in-person proceedings until 9 a.m., Monday, Jan. 31:
- All traffic and misdemeanor matters. Those courtrooms are closed for public business, including satellite courtrooms in East St. Louis and Fairview Heights. Parties will receive notices to appear via U.S. mail.
- All in-court proceedings are limited to essential matters and parties are encouraged to utilize remote proceedings when appropriate.
- All eviction, mortgage foreclosure and small claims matters that require personal appearances are continued. Parties will receive notices via U.S. mail. All cases that are scheduled for mediation via Zoom, with remote appearances, will proceed as scheduled.
- No marriages or civil union ceremonies will be conducted.
- All questions related to any court matters should be directed to the Circuit Clerk's office, according to the court's press release.
