EDWARDSVILLE -- A spectator at a Bethalto wrestling tournament claims she tripped on an uneven surface with tape sticking up, causing her to fall and suffer injuries.

Nance Zimmerman filed a lawsuit on Nov. 30 in the Madison County Circuit Court against the U.S.A. Wrestling Association, Illinois Kids Wrestling Federation, IL/USAW and Bethalto Bulls Wrestling Club.

According to the complaint, on Dec. 8, 2019, Zimmerman was at a wrestling tournament put on by the defendants at Civic Memorial High School on Dec. 8, 2019. Zimmerman allegedly fell due to an uneven surface and tape that was not adhered properly, causing a tripping hazard. The plaintiff claims the defendants should have known that the tape was not adhered properly and was sticking up.

Zimmerman allegedly suffered severe pain and injury, lost wages, lost enjoyment of life, disability and endured pain and suffering.

Zimmerman seeks a judgment in excess of $50,000, plus costs. Zimmerman is represented by Jarrod P. Beasley of Kuehn Beasley & Young PC in Belleville.
