EDWARDSVILLE -- A motorist is suing a truck driver for allegedly causing a rear end collision in Granite City.

Veda Neer filed a lawsuit on Dec. 8 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Lonnie James, PSC Metals, LLC. and MW Recycling, LLC., a subsidiary of PSC Metals, alleging negligence.

According to the lawsuit, Neer was operating a vehicle northbound on Route 3 near the intersection with Madison Avenue in Granite City on Dec. 10, 2019. At the same time, James was operating a 2007 Lugger Mack tractor trailer when he allegedly collided with the rear of Neer's vehicle.

Neer alleges James negligently failed to keep a proper lookout, failed to keep his vehicle under control, failed to obey a traffic device, failed to stop at a traffic signal and traveled too closely behind the plaintiff's vehicle.

Neer claims she was caused to suffer severe and significant injuries, medical bills, disfigurement, lost wages and endure pain and suffering.

Neer seeks a judgment for an amount in excess of $50,000, plus court costs. She is represented by Jane Unsell of Unsell Schattnik & Phillips PC in Wood River.
