EDWARDSVILLE -- A motorist is suing the driver of another vehicle for allegedly causing a Collinsville collision.
Alyssa Plummer filed a lawsuit on Nov. 30 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Jennifer E. Fouts, alleging personal injury.
According to the lawsuit, Plummer was traveling south in her vehicle on Vandalia/IL-59 near the intersection of E. Clay Street in Collinsville on Dec. 20, 2019. She alleges Fouts collided with her vehicle as the defendant was traveling westbound on E. Clay Street.
Plummer alleges Fouts failed to stop or swerve to avoid a collision with another vehicle, failed to keep her vehicle in control, drove a vehicle at a speed greater than reasonable, failed to keep a proper lookout, failed to equip her vehicle with proper brakes, disregarding traffic a control device, failed to yield the right-of-way and failed to reduce speed to avoid a collision.
Plummer claims she was caused to suffer physical and mental pain and suffering, loss of a normal life, disability and disfigurement. She also claims she incurred future medical care expenses, treatment and services, future loss of earning capacity and other damages of personal and pecuniary nature.
Plummer seeks a judgment for an amount in excess of $50,000. Plummer is represented by Trent S. West of the Law Offices of Glenn & West LLC in Litchfield.
