EDWARDSVILLE -- A woman is suing a motorist for allegedly causing a multi-vehicle collision at an Alton intersection.
Carol L. Cagle filed a lawsuit on Nov. 30 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Daniel Curtis Seidler.
According to the lawsuit, Cagle was in her vehicle and stopped at a stop sign facing east on W. Center Drive at the intersection of N. Alby St. in Alton on Dec. 3, 2019. She claims Seidler, who was driving a 2008 pick-up truck, approached at a high rate of speed going southbound upon N. Alby St. A third vehicle entered the intersection and was traveling westerly. Seidler collided with the vehicle in the intersection, causing both vehicles to collide with Cagle's vehicle.
Cagle alleges Seidler failed to stop or slow down while crossing the intersection, drove and operated a motor vehicle at a high rate of speed, failed to maintain control of a vehicle and failed to stop, swerve or otherwise avoid a collision.
Cagle claims she was caused to suffer injuries to her head, neck, shoulders, arms, legs and body. She also claims she incurred medical and surgical expenses, lost wages, suffered future lost wages, future pain and suffering and future medical bills.
Cagle sees a judgment in excess of $50,000, plus cost of suit. Cagle is represented by Thomas E. Hildebrand of Granite City.
