EDWARDSVILLE -- A motorist claims another driver failed to yield the right of way at a Bethalto intersection.

Marilyn J. Hosier filed a complaint on Nov. 19 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Cassandra E. Wiggenhorn.

According to the complaint, Hosier was driving northbound on North Prairie Street on Nov. 25, 2019. Wiggenhorn was traveling westboud at the intersection with North Prairie Street and Central Street. Hosier claims that after stopping at the four-way stop sign, Wiggenhorn collided into Hosier as Hosier was going through the intersection.

Wiggenhorn allegedly failed to reduce the speed of her vehicle to avoid a collision, failed to keep a proper lookout for other vehicles, failed to stop in time of a collision, failed to keep control of a vehicle, failed to give an audible warning to insure safety and failed to yield the right of way.

Hosier claims she was caused to suffer personal injuries and damages.

Hosier seeks an award in excess of $50,000 plus cost of suit. Hosier is represented by David C. Steigmann of Steigmann Law PC in Savoy.
