EDWARDSVILLE -- A motorist is suing another driver who allegedly turned left in front of him and caused a collision.
Owen Kobbeman filed a complaint on Nov. 18 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Meridith Kleinmann.
According to the complaint, Kobbeman was operating his vehicle on Nov. 29, 2019, heading northbound on U.S. 40 near Veterans Honor Parkway. Kleinmann was operating her vehicle heading southbound on U.S. 40 and was attempting to turn eastbound onto Veterans Honor Parkway when she allegedly caused a collision between both vehicles.
Kobbeman claims Kleinmann failed to keep a proper lookout ahead for other vehicles, failed to keep her vehicle under control, failed to yield the right of way, operated her vehicle at an unsafe speed and attempted to make a left-hand turn when it was not safe to proceed.
As a result, Kobbeman claims he suffered severe and permanent injuries to muscles, tendons, ligaments, nerves, soft tissue and bones to his head, neck, back, spine, discs and vertebrae; injuries to his wrist and upper extremities, lost large sums of money due to being unable to do his occupation and incurred medical expenses.
Kobbeman seeks an award of $50,000, plus cost of suit and pre-judgement interest. Kobbeman is represented by Robert P. Marcus of The Gori Law Firm, P..C. of Edwardsville.
