EDWARDSVILLE — A customer claims he was injured when he tripped on a dog leash at the Imel Pest Control facility.

John Petrosky filed a complaint Nov. 12 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Imel Pest Control Inc., alleging negligence.

Petrosky was at the Imel Pest Control on May 12, according to his complaint. He alleges that the defendant had a dog on the premises that was attached to a leash at the entrance to the business. Petroksy claims that while exiting the property, the dog's leash caused him to trip and fall.

As a result, he claims he suffered injuries to his knee, hand, wrists and elbow, which caused him to incur medical expenses.

Petrosky claims Imel was negligent for failing to make its premises reasonably safe, failing to control the dog on the premises and failing to have a safe way for visitors to exit the building.

Petrosky seeks monetary relief of more than $50,000, interest and all other just relief. He is represented by Jeffrey Kopis of Jerome, Salmi & Kopis LLC in Fairview Heights.
