EDWARDSVILLE — The estate of a man who died in an Olive Township collision is suing a motorist who allegedly ran a stop sign and caused the crash.

Dawn Rae, as special administrator of the Estate of Janson Rae, deceased, filed a complaint Nov. 9 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Tori Koleff, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, Jason Rae was driving a Toyota Scion on IL-4 on Nov. 12, 2019. The plaintiff claims that as Jason Rae approached the intersection with Possum Hill Road in Olive Township, Koleff, who was driving his Ford Edge, failed to stop at a stop sign and collided with Rae's Toyota.

The plaintiff claims that as a result of the collision, Jason Rae suffered bodily injuries that led to his death.

The plaintiff alleges Koleff was negligent for failing to keep a proper lookout, driving while distracted, failing to yield the right of way and for not keeping a proper lookout. She also alleges Koleff was negligent for failing to warn of the impending collision and failing to reduce her speed to avoid the crash.

The plaintiff claims Jason Rae incurred medical treatment expenses as a result of his injuries.

Dawn Rae seeks monetary relief of more than $50,000 and all other just relief. She is represented by Michael Glisson and Timothy Chartrand of Williamson, Webster, Falb & Glisson in Alton.
