EDWARDSVILLE — A driver is accused of failing to stop at an intersection in Roxana, resulting in a collision.
Donald Blankenship filed a complaint Nov. 10 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Andy Alshaheri, alleging negligence.
According to his complaint, Blankenship was driving a Ford Explorer on Wanda Road in Roxana on March 18 and approaching the intersection of Wagon Wheel Road. He alleges Alshaheri was driving a Honda CRV when he attempted to make a left turn without stopping at the stop sign, causing his vehicle to collide with the plaintiff's vehicle.
As a result, Blankenship claims he suffered injuries to his knee, leg, hand and head. He also claims he suffered lost wages and incurred medical treatment expenses.
Blankenship claims Alshaheri failed to keep a proper lookout, failed to turn when it was safe to do so, failed to warn of the impending collision, failed to yield the right of way, failed to maneuver to avoid the crash and drove at an unsafe speed for the traffic conditions.
Blankenship seeks compensation of more than $50,000 and all other just relief. He is represented by Michael Glisson and Timothy Chartrand of Williamson, Webser, Falb & Glisson in Alton.
