EDWARDSVILLE — A tenant is suing a Collinsville apartment after she allegedly slipped on a stairway without handrails.

Kendall Catuccio filed a complaint Oct. 4 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Dynasty Property Management LLC, KH Properties LLC and Metro Apartments at Collinsville LLC, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, Catuccio was at her apartment on Idlebrook in Collinsville on Oct. 20, 2019. She claims she was walking on to a stairway connected to the apartment, which had no handrails, when she slipped, tripped and fell. As a result of her fall, Catuccio claims she suffered a fracture and other injuries.

Catuccio alleges the defendants failed to properly construct and maintain the stairway, failed to make reasonable inspections and failed to have handrails on the sides of the stairs. She also alleges the defendants should have known of the danger and should have had handrails or anti-skid footing materials on the stairs.

Catuccio claims she incurred medical bills for hospital services and therapy and suffered lost wages, pain and anguish, as a result of her fall.

Catuccio seeks monetary relief, trial by jury and all other just relief. She is represented by Tonya Genovese and Sara Salger of The Gori Law Firm PC in Edwardsville.
