EDWARDSVILLE — A St. Clair County homeowner alleges a plumbing company damaged his property and failed to properly fix a water and sewer line extending from his house to the city line.

John Carr filed a complaint Oct. 5 in Madison County Circuit Court against Tiger Plumbing, Heating, Air Conditioning & Electrical Services, doing business as Tiger Services, Aqua Finance and others, alleging breach of contract, violation of the Consumer Fraud & Deceptive Business Practices Act and other claims.

According to his complaint, Carr began to experience plumbing issues at his home on Sept. 18, 2018, including a clogged sewage and water drain line from his basement to the city water and sewer line. He alleges he hired the defendants to fix the plumbing issues for $20,149.91. He claims that while the defendants were working, they damaged the water line running into his house from the connection with the city line which they agreed to replace.

Carr claims that in addition to damaging his property, the defendants failed to properly install the new sewer and water line as promised and failed to do the work in a professional manner. He further claims that on Sept. 9, 2018, he entered into a credit agreement with Aqua Finance for the home repairs and that Aqua attempted to collect the "fraudulent contractual debt."

Carr seeks compensation of more than $50,000 and all other just relief. He is represented by Brian Wendler, Angie Zinzilieta and Warren Benning of Wendler & Zinzilieta PC in Edwardsville.
