EDWARDSVILLE — A woman is suing Taco Bell and Kentucky Fried Chicken after she allegedly slipped at one of their restaurants in Highland and suffered injuries.

Denise Setar and John Mark Setar filed a complaint Oct. 7 in the Madison County Circuit Court against GSZ Partnership, doing business as Taco Bell, and Kentucky Fried Chicken, alleging negligence.

Setar alleges that while she was at the defendants' restaurant on Mercantile Drive in Highland on Oct. 26, 2019, she slipped and fell on a "foreign substance" that was on the floor and suffered serious injuries.

She claims the defendants failed to maintain their premises, knew or should have known of the dangerous condition and failed to warn of the hazard.

Setar alleges that as a result of the defendants' negligence, she suffered pain, and has been prevented from attending to her daily affairs. She also claims she incurred medical treatment costs, including surgery and hospitalization.

Setar seeks compensation of more than $50,000, and all other just relief. She is represented by John Lee of Neubauer, Johnston & Hudson in Fairview Heights.
