EDWARDSVILLE — A woman alleges she slipped on a slick, muddy substance on a McDonald's walkway in Granite City.
Lisa Dunnavant-Polach filed a complaint Sept. 21 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Estel Foods Inc., and McDonald's Corporation, alleging premises liability.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that while at the defendants' premises on Madison Avenue in Granite City on Oct. 3, 2019, she slipped and fell on a "slick, muddy substance" that accumulated on the outside walkway adjacent to the defendant's store. She claims the accumulation of mud was due to the position of a downspout and that the defendants failed to inspect and maintain the walkway. The plaintiff also claims the defendants failed to have a barricade or some type of warning about the dangerous condition.
As a result of her fall, the plaintiff claims she suffered injuries to her back and spine, suffered impaired mobility and emotional distress and incurred medical expenses.
The plaintiff seeks compensation of more than $50,000 and all other proper relief. She is represented by Shaun Falvey of Goldblatt + Singer in Clayton, Mo.
