EDWARDSVILLE — A motorist alleges another driver failed to obey a traffic signal and yield the right of way at an Edwardsville intersection, causing a crash.

Amanda J. Gunderson filed a complaint Sept. 10 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Nicholas E. Herron, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, Gunderson claims she was driving her Chevy Cruz on Governors Parkway near the intersection with Edwardsville Crossing Drive in Edwardsville on Sept. 20, 2019. She alleges Herron attempted to make a left turn onto Edwardsville Crossing Drive, failing to yield the right of way while there was also "insufficient time to complete the turn." Gunderson claims Herron's negligent actions caused her to collide with the passenger side of his vehicle.

As a result, Gunderson claims she suffered a concussion and anxiety and incurred numerous medical bills.

She claims Herron failed to keep a proper lookout for other traffic on the roadway, did not reduce his speed to try and avoid the collision and did not obey the traffic control device.

Gunderson seeks monetary relief of more than $50,000 and all other proper relief. She is represented by Jennifer Wagner of Goldenberg Heller & Antognoli in Edwardsville.
